Reog Ponorogo and East java ethnic

ponorogo            
                Reog is a traditional dance that become the main identity for Ponorogo regency.
Because of this, Ponorogo is also known as Reog city.  This theatre has been known wide in Indonesian even foreign tourists. Reog National Festival is held every years along the anniversary of Ponorogo regency and Grebeg Suro celebration.  Reog dance is also staged full moon nightly in paseban, Ponorogo Town Square. Reog told about the struggle for a prince who will propose to a lovely pretty princess .
             This dance is staged about 25 - 40 dancers and the musician.  The interesting of Reog is his main leading figure named Singo Barong. The dancer of Singo Barong bear the mask about 30 - 40 kg weight and supported by the strength of their teeth.  The other leading figure in Reog include Kelono Sewandono, Bujang Anom, Jatil and Warok.
The visitors can enjoy this traditional dance only in Ponorogo, East Java - Indonesia. The only area that has REOG dance is Ponorogo, not in other country.

Gudeg, unique food of Yogyakarta

 
             Gudeg is a traditional food from Yogyakarta and Central Java, Indonesia which is made from young Nangka (jack fruit) boiled for several hours with palm sugar, and coconut milk. Additional spices include garlic, shallot, candle nut, coriander seed, galangal, bay leaves, and teak leaves, the latter giving a reddish brown color to the dish. It is also called Green Jack Fruit Sweet Stew.
Gudeg is served with white rice, chicken, hard-boiled egg, tofu and/or tempeh, and a stew made of crisp beef skins (sambal goreng krecek).

Wayang, Indonesia's Big Treasure

                     Wayang is a Javanese word for particular kinds of theatre (literally "theatre" or sometimes "puppet"). When the term is used to refer to kinds of puppet theatre, sometimes the puppet itself is referred to as wayang. Performances of shadow puppet theatre are accompanied by gamelan in Java, and by gender wayang in Bali.
UNESCO designated Wayang Kulit, a shadow puppet theatre and the best known of the Indonesian wayang, as a Masterpiece of Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity on 7 November 2003. In return for the acknowledgment, UNESCO required Indonesians to preserve their heritage.

Javanese Games "EGRANG"

Borobudur the High Art Temple

                                                                           
                    Borobudur is the name of a Buddhist temple located at Borobudur, Magelang, Central Java, Indonesia. Location of the temple is about 100 km southwest of Manila, 86 km to the west of Surakarta, and 40 km northwest of Yogyakarta. Stupa shaped temple was founded by the Mahayana Buddhists around 800-Masehi in the reign of an wangsa Syailendra. The monument comprises six square terraces on which there are three circular courtyard, the walls adorned with original 2672 relief panels and 504 Buddha statues. The main stupa in the middle of the largest teletak once crowned this building, surrounded by three rows of circular 72 perforated stupa in which there are statues of Buddha sitting cross-legged in the lotus position perfectly with mudra (hand position) Dharmachakra mudra (turning the wheel of dharma).

Pajimatan King Tomb

                                                     
                Imogiri Pajimatan King tomb is located in the Village Pajimatan, Kalurahan Wukirsari, District Imogiri, Bantul regency. The position is about 17km southeast of the city. Tomb of 10 hectares is located on the "Bukit Merak" as high as 35-100 meters above sea level. The location must must be reached by up the stairs , the amount of approximately 364 steps.This tomb was built in 1645 by Sultan Agung Hanyokrokusumo, the third king of Mataram Dynasty of Islam. This place became known as Pajimatan Imogiri, which was buried when the Sultan Agung died on April 6, 1645. The tomb of Sultan Agung himself to be the parent's tomb and called Kasultanangungan, located in the upper middle bagiah.

Serimpi Dance

             Serimpi dance is a type of traditional dances of Central Java Regional. This dance is performed by four dancers who were all women. This amount is in accordance with the meaning of the word meaning serimpi 4. According Kanjeng Brongtodiningrat, the composition of the four dancers as symbols of the four compass points Toya (water), Grama (fire), wind (air) and Earth (ground).
